Mission

The mission of the ACSRC is to promote opportunities, through the charter school movement, that produce the dynamics necessary to bring about effective systematic changes in education, within a publicly funded budget that is pragmatic, reasonable, cost efficient, and cost effective.

The charter school movement is instrumental as one approach to the ultimate goal, which is comprehensive change in the delivery of public education. Charter schools are an important dynamic of change, but not the end all solution.

Goals

Our goal is to increase the likelihood of success of charter schools as a change agent by (1) increasing the number, quality and diversity of applications for existing open slots; (2) supporting new and existing charter schools; (3) increasing public awareness and support; (4) promoting public policy development and change; (5) developing internal systems of accountability; (6) evaluating overall effectiveness of charter schools by monitoring change and improvements in the education system as a whole.
